Simultaneous bomb blast in Jos leaves 50 Dead, 47 injured

A simultaneous bomb blast attack in Jos has left about 50 people dead and about 47 others injured.

According to reports gathered, the first bomb went off at a restaurant opposite the Bauchi campus of the University of Jos, while the second one went off at the mosque near the Yan tyre market area of Dilimi junction along Bauchi road about 16 minutes after.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is on a mop up exercise at the explosion scene.

NEMA’s North-Central Coordinator, Abdulsalam Mohammed, said that the injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals including the Plateau Specialist Hospital.

He assured the residents that normalcy had been restored to the area.
