There are speculations that the All Progressive Congress party is not comfortable with the proposed May 28 as handover date of the present administration to the incoming government.
According to the Minister of Information, Senator Patricia Akwashiki who announced the new handover date to journalists after the Federal Council meeting on Wednesday, "The president will perform the handover ceremony at a dinner on May 28 so that we can reserve May 29, for the incoming Government.
Reacting to Akwashiki's words, a top member of the All Progressive Congress party who pleaded that his name should not be mentioned, simply puts it as not acceptable. It is a trap from a security point of view he concluded.
We all know May 29, is Nigeria's Democracy day, and it is the official date for handover of power from one government to another since 1999. Why the new date ?
