The former Chirman, Senate Committee on Education, Sanetor Uche Chukwumerije, is reported dead. Chukwumerije died in a Turkish hospital.
According to a family representative, Chidi, "Chukwumerije died on Sunday after a long battle with lung cancer. He was 75. Details of his burial arrangements will be announced in due course, all we ask for now is your prayers and best wishes he concluded.
Senator Uche Chukwumerije represents Abia north Senatorial district.
