President Goodluck Jonathan Sacks NIPC Boss, Appoints Replacement.


President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday sacked the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Mrs. Saratu Altine Umar, with immediate effect.

In a statement made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President approved the appointment of Mrs. Uju Aisha Hassan-Baba as Umar’s replacement.

Mrs. Uju Aisha Hassan-Baba had served previously as Director-General, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Anambra State and Director, Legal Services, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.

Reason (s) for sacking Umar was not given.

“President Jonathan thanks the out-going Executive Secretary/Chief Executive for her services and wishes her well in her future endeavours,” the statement added.
